I’m saying yes to showing up as me now. The me that is right now. Without apology and without need for explanation or needing to make sense.
I’m saying yes to presenting myself as my beautiful, feminine, grown woman self. To feeling beautiful daily.
I’m saying yes to expressing myself fully in this new season to an established community of people who have always celebrated me evolving.
I’m saying yes to a willingness to be misunderstood. And—dare I say—an embrace to being misunderstood?
I’m saying yes to making bold, courageous, and experimental choices as a creator and entrepreneur to earning more and owning more. Yes, while even still in my full-time corporate career.
I’m saying yes to continued discipline with financial stewardship, and time stewardship. I’m saying yes to continued delayed gratification but not in ways that deny my joy, my pleasure, and my needs.

Today, May 2nd, marks the end of my hiatus from sharing on this platform. Thank you for being apart of my community. For being apart of my journey, even during the quiet seasons when I’ve withdrawn from fear of being visible and seen, or when I’ve withdrawn out of necessity for my creative process and spiritual process. God’s always doing a new thing within me and I’m ready to share more again. I’m so excited for what’s to come.
This reflective writing that I shared today is from the heart. It’s what I wrote to myself, prompted by my coach Keonna Knight during last night’s coaching session. Keonna is also in the midst of fundraising for her retreat, Come Home: A Rest Retreat for Black Women. Click here to learn more and to support her in turning this into a reality for all of us, or join the waitlist to learn more about attending this beautiful gathering that I look forward to being apart of, as well (more on that when the time is right).
P.S. I’m also saying yes to speaking and guiding self-care experiences at the intersection of wellness, mental health, faith, culture, and community. I’m open to creating beautiful, transformational experiences for organizations, community groups, churches, and individuals. Reach out to me, let’s create something meaningful together.
It was nice to hear your voice and read your journey today. I am saying yes to the next chapter of my journey. My path is becoming clear and I'm tuned in to my heart and soul. I am saying yes to listening to more jazz, soul, and gospel music as it keeps me mindful and grounded. Thank you for your Substack.
This resonates, thank you for sharing! I’m grateful for your journey
